About Auntie Bev

I am Beverley Flockton and I run my childcare business from my home. I started childminding in August 1993 working by myself and began employing staff in December 2008 due to increasing numbers of children. Currently, I have three members of staff – Miss Kyrie Flockton, Miss Sam Freeman and Miss Rachael Slater.

I am registered with Ofsted as a childminder and as childcare on domestic premises. We have space for 9 pre-school children and work on the basis of one adult to three children. All staff are fully qualified and are committed to continued training. I offer full and part time places for children aged from birth to 12 years. I also offer fifteen hours per week of free nursery education to 2, 3 and 4 year olds which can be taken over two to five days. With effect from September 2017, there will be a 30 hour funding entitlement available to working parents subject to eligibility.

I am committed to best practice in order that the children in my care may reach their full potential in all areas of learning. I keep up to date with training and am always looking to improve wherever I can. I have a good secondary school education which I have built upon whilst working – completing an NVQ level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education in 2005 and my Foundation Degree in Early Years in May 2009. I have also passed a VRQ level 3 qualification in Early Years Foundation Stage practice – January 2010, to compliment the teaching of nursery education. In addition, I am a member of the Wakefield Childminding network.
